Your trip starts in Winnipeg where our expeditor greets you as you arrive by either airplane or car. Direct flights and interstate highways get you quickly and easily straight into Winnipeg. We help you find your hotel and also provide transportation to the private hangar for your 5:30am departure to Budd’s Gunisao Lake Lodge. After a 75-minute flight, you literally walk off your chartered aircraft and enjoy a fresh breakfast at the Lodge. As you are eating, your bags are unloaded from the planes and taken to your cabin. After breakfast, grab your gear and take a short walk to the dock where your experienced guide will get you started on your once-in-a-lifetime fishing adventure!

Fishing On Gunisao Lake

Gunisao Lake offers the Best Trophy Walleye Fishing in the World. One look at the Manitoba Master Angler Record Book will convince you of that. Year after year, Gunisao kicks out more 28-inch and larger Walleyes than any other lake in the country, which is why it's known as the premier Walleye destination in Canada. In addition to the World's Best Trophy Walleye Fishing, don't be surprised if you tie into many lunker Northern Pike as well. Pike ranging from 36 to over 42 inches are common. Catch and release is the name of the game*. All trophy size fish are measured and then released to ensure the big ones will be biting for many years to come.

While fishing, you will be impressed with our professional guides and large, comfortable Lund boats. Each 18 foot Alaskan Lund has a flat bottom for easy movement within the boat, padded swivel seats, an electronic fish finder, and a 40hp Yamaha motor. There is one guide for every two guests.

For over 15 years, Budd’s has implemented a catch-and-release program for Trophy-size fish. Releasing them allows the fish to grow bigger and bigger, year after year. This ensures great Trophy fishing for future generations.
